Profile of Dr. Emerson Henry
Emerson Henry, Dental Surgeon, is a graduate of the Morant Bay High School. He has been practicing Dentistry in Jamaica for 25 years, with offices in St. Thomas and Kingston. Before embarking on a career in dentistry he worked as a teacher at the Seaforth High School, and as a chemist in the sugar, banana and pharmaceutical industries in Jamaica.
He received his primary and secondary education at the Seaforth Primary, Morant Bay High, and Excelsior Schools .He then went on to the University of the West Indies where he received a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Applied Chemistry, before going to the Semmelweis Medical University in Hungary where he graduated with honours in dentistry. More recently he completed a post-graduate degree in prosthodontics at the University of London from which he received a Masters in Clinical Dentistry.
Emerson has been a member of the MBHS Alumni since its inception and is a past President of the Jamaican chapter. He is a member of the Jamaica Dental Association and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Seaforth High School. He tries to keep healthy by jogging, practicing hatha yoga, weight-lifting, and playing football. His hobbies include songwriting and singing. He is married to dermatologist Dr. Heather Brown and has four children; Sasha, Jordan, Zahra and Zachary and a grandson, Elijah.
